Cold War Radar

Radar Equipment

Radar in the early Cold War, which used various pieces of equipment, was similar to that of the Second World War, drawing on plotting tables and tote boards.  Ground Controlled Approach radar was used to help control air traffic and land planes, and saw improvement in the Cold War, expanding into Quadradar and RAPCONs.  The radome was an important piece of Cold War radar equipment, helping shield radar as it moved into harsher conditions.
