Navigation

Navigation was also studied by Fighter Control Operators.  It was important to understand the ways planes flew and navigated the skies.  The flight path of an aircraft had to be compared to what was presented on the radar screen so that it could be identified.  Therefore flight patterns had to be understood.

Students also learned navigation because it sometimes became necessary when they had to help navigate aircraft to reach their destination when they were in need of aid from radar.
